MoFo Hosts “Israeli Innovation in Healthcare” Event in Palo Alto

Second Annual Blockchain Healthcare Summit

Last week, Morrison & Foerster’s Israel practice hosted a program in our Palo Alto office titled, “Israeli Innovation in Healthcare,” in collaboration with the Israel Economic Mission to the West Coast. The program featured Professor Karen Avraham, Vice Dean of Tel Aviv University’s Faculty of Medicine, and Aimee Fisher, VP Strategy and Business Development at aMoon Fund.

This event offered a rare opportunity for attendees to network with investors, startups, and professionals in the Israeli healthcare innovation ecosystem in Silicon Valley. Representatives from aMoon Fund, an Israeli venture capital firm, and Tel Aviv University were on hand to meet attendees. We had an excellent turnout, with over 60 attendees, including over 20 startups.

After a successful networking session, Professor Karen Avraham and Aimee Fisher shared their respective knowledge on the night’s theme.

Morrison & Foerster’s Shiri Shenhav acted as emcee for the evening, introducing the program’s speakers, and Moran Zilbershtein, the Head of the Israel Economic Mission to the West Coast.

Professor Karen Avraham’s presentation, “Will Personalized Medicine Cure our Diseases? – Insights from Research at Tel Aviv University,” covered not only the current state of medicine, but also what medicine will look like 50 years from now.

Next, Aimee Fisher, a Bay Area native who is now VP of Strategy and Business Intelligence at aMoon, based in Israel, rounded out the program with a presentation on aMoon’s mission. She explained what makes a healthcare startup a good investment candidate.
